    Salisbury Gladstone LLC (Gladstone) is a Colorado milling company that operates the Gladstone Toll Mill (GTM).  GTM is the first toll mill permitted in Colorado since the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2002 Record of Decision that focuses on remediation of abandoned mine Superfund sites in Colorado.  GTM will process legacy mine waste or mill feedstock located on permitted and historic mines throughout the Western United States.   

    As the GTM Manager, you will become an integral part of a supportive, performance-driven, and dynamic team.  As a member of this ground-breaking operation, you will be given the hands-on opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills by managing the mill’s staff, site, and equipment.  We place the highest priority on employee safety and protecting the environment while maximizing the quality of our client’s byproduct and concentrate.

    The GTM Manager will report directly to GTM’s President.  As manager of GTM, the primary responsibilities will be to ensure the safe and effective processing of feedstock while managing the economic complex nature of the mill operations.  This position is responsible for the overall management, direction, and coordination of the milling operations.  Critical responsibilities will include overseeing the milling schedule, supervising the milling process, and managing byproduct and concentrates while creating and sustaining a productive and positive work environment. 

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership to and manage staff to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to safety standards and procedures including any appropriate regulations.
    • Effectively manage the milling operations while ensuring adherence to company safety, health, and environmental standards.
    • Ensure mill production objectives are met at the lowest cost consistent with quality requirements.
    • Conduct regular and thorough inspections of all mill areas to ensure compliance with oversight agency regulations, company safety policies, and environmental regulations.
    • Develop and set clear expectations and work objectives that achieve business plan tasks, budgets, and production targets.
    • Spend appropriate time at the mill to ensure that critical systems, processes, procedures, controls, methods, risks, etc. are being correctly and uniformly applied and properly managed by all team members
    • Prepare daily production reports
    • Ensure the smooth flow of information and documentation between the mill and Gladstone’s financial department.
    • Monitor the security of the mill
    • Assist Gladstone company officers in developing the overall business strategy, particularly in regards to processing technology development, operations, equipment, and maintenance.
    • Effective and efficient logistics scheduling.
    • Create a working environment that ensures that employees and contractors gain new skills and achieve their full potential by developing and implementing effective training programs consistent with MSHA Title 30 Part 46
    • Promote team-building and a respectful work environment
    • Manage employee performance, in order to identify and remedy substandard performance and behavior.
    • Oversee equipment maintenance and repairs
    • Other duties may be required by Gladstone.

    Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, or Chemical Engineering (or related degree/or experience)
    • 3 years experience in mining or mill operating, preferably in a supervisory role
    • Computer competency including adept at spreadsheets and word documents along with internet portals and other industry software
    • Forklift and front-end loader operator
    • Heavy equipment maintenance
    • CPR and First Aid Certification preferred
    • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Multitasker
    • Works well under pressure
    • Trustworthy

    In addition to office tasks, this position will require physical activity to include climbing, bending, lifting up to 50lbs, and working outside in a mountain environment.  The potential for exposure to extreme seasonal weather exists as working in snow, mud or ice will be necessary. 

    The anticipated annual starting pay range is $75,000-$100,000 plus paid time off.  This position is subject to a pre-employment background check and pre-employment drug test.
